Taiwanese Tourists Granted 14-Day Visa-Free Entry by Philippines to Boost Tourism

The Philippines has announced the continuation of its visa-free entry program for Taiwanese passport holders, extending the 14-day allowance until June 30 next year. This initiative, designed to boost tourism and enhance cultural exchanges, allows visitors from Taiwan to explore the Philippines without the need for a visa for short stays.

This extension upholds the same privileges introduced last year and is part of the Philippine government’s strategy to maintain reciprocal visa arrangements. Taiwan offers similar visa-free access to Philippine citizens, fostering mutual travel and interaction between the two regions.

In an effort to further entice Taiwanese tourists, the Philippines is working on expanding flight availability and promoting lesser-known travel spots beyond the usual tourist destinations like Palawan. By highlighting various regions and experiences, the country aims to showcase its diverse attractions to international visitors.

Tourism statistics indicate that nearly 94,000 Taiwanese tourists visited the Philippines in the first five months of this year. This figure marks an increase compared to the same period last year, placing Taiwan among the top sources of international tourists for the Philippines. The government sees this as an opportunity to strengthen ties and economic benefits through tourism.
