For the first time, Taiwan’s military will integrate an obstacle emplacement exercise on the newly opened Danjiang Bridge into the annual Han Kuang military drills, set to take place from August 6 to August 14. This exercise aims to simulate scenarios where access to the bridge and its approach routes would need to be blocked during a potential military conflict.
The Danjiang Bridge is considered a strategic route leading to Taipei, making it a critical point for defensive measures against possible threats such as amphibious landings or advances from the Port of Taipei. Military officials emphasize the importance of this location in fortifying defenses and delaying enemy movement in realistic combat situations.
