Taiwan has announced the suspension of visa processing for citizens of Morocco in response to a recent decision by Moroccan authorities to halt the issuance of visa confirmation letters for Taiwanese travelers. The move by Morocco involves instructing its diplomatic missions worldwide to cease the processing of confirmation letters required for Taiwanese nationals to obtain visas upon arrival. Despite this suspension, Taiwanese travelers who have already secured valid confirmation letters before the policy change can still enter Morocco as long as these documents remain valid.
Taiwan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has expressed concern over Morocco’s decision, highlighting the negative impact on travel and exchanges between the two populations. The ministry has called on Rabat to resume the standard process of visa issuance to facilitate continued people-to-people interactions and travel.
In response to Morocco’s policy shift, Taiwan has also indicated that it will be closely monitoring the situation and may adjust its visa measures for Moroccan nationals accordingly.
