Loong Air has inaugurated a new direct flight service between Chengdu Tianfu International Airport and Taichung International Airport, marking its first foray into cross-strait routes. This new connection is set to enhance travel accessibility between southwestern China and central Taiwan, operating twice a week with flights scheduled on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
The introduction of this route expands Taichung International Airport’s offerings, bringing the total to 31 routes, which consist of 20 regular services and 11 charter routes. With the addition of Chengdu, Taichung now serves three scheduled cross-strait destinations, alongside Nanjing and Qingdao.
This development underscores Loong Air’s commitment to expanding its network and improving connectivity across the Taiwan Strait. The airline aims to provide more convenient travel options for passengers traveling between these regions.
As the travel industry continues to rebound, the new Chengdu-Taichung route is expected to cater to increasing passenger demand and strengthen economic and cultural ties across the strait. Both Chengdu and Taichung airports anticipate a positive impact from this enhanced connectivity.
